Who We Are
Hi there, we’re Annika & Björn – founders and creators of Läppie – and we love being outdoors!
In 2023, we fulfilled a dream and hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) together – from Mexico to Canada, 4,200 kilometers through California, Oregon, and Washington. Six months of living, walking, eating, and sleeping outdoors – simply being in the moment.
If we had to describe that feeling in one word, it would be: Freedom.
But with that sense of freedom came an important realization: nature in the U.S. was remarkably clean. No trash, no toilet paper by the trails – just nature the way it’s meant to be. That’s not because of stricter rules, but because of a mindset that many people there truly live by: Leave No Trace – leave nothing behind.
Back in Europe, the contrast was striking: toilet paper everywhere. In the woods, on rocks, along hiking trails. And to be honest – it really frustrated us…
The Story Behind Läppie
The idea for Läppie actually came to us earlier. The problem was already evident on the Camino de Santiago. When we started preparing for our first Thru-Hike together in Corsica, it became clear: we needed a sustainable solution for peeing on the go.
In the U.S. outdoor community, so-called pee rags are completely normal – but in Europe, they’re almost unheard of. So we thought: Let’s change that!
And that’s how Läppie was born over time – a mix of frustration, curiosity, a spirit of adventure, and the desire to make a positive difference.
Our Vision
We dream of a world where no one leaves toilet paper or tissues in nature anymore. Where mindfulness, respect, and shared experiences outdoors are the norm.
What exactly is Läppie?
Small rag – big impact
Läppie is an antimicrobial, odor-reducing, and discreetly wearable wipe for the little business – also called pee rag or rather pee wipe Super practical for anyone who spends time outdoors and wants something sustainable, hygienic, and discreet.

The fabric is treated with the Silvadur process – a technology approved in Europe and rated as safe – making it antibacterial and odor-neutral.

A PUL membrane protects your hands. After use, simply fold Läppie up and attach it discreetly to your backpack, saddle, or belt. Easy and discreet.
Why a Läppie Makes a Difference
One Läppie replaces countless rolls of toilet paper – preventing cellulose, plastic, or tissues from ending up in the forest.
With every person who changes their mindset, something changes. And sometimes, a small cloth is all it takes.
